How to make friends in New York?

…pretty simple!

Just wear a Yankee-shirt and cap and stand on the wrong subway-track to the stadium. Then if you are lucky (we were) two very nice Yankee-fans named Gail an Lou will help you to find the right way. Even more (what we never expected) they took us to their favourite bar, called Stan’s Bar, in front of the stadium and showed us the “Yankee way of life”.

Gail and Lou, we were so happy that we met you and so we dedicate today’s blog-entry to you (and to our friends and family-members at home that’s why it is in English at last – next one in German again, I promise). Thank’s a lot! You made this day and our first Yankee-game ever so special. We will never forget! And by the way – the hot dogs were gorgeous!

What else happened? The game of course! Who won? The Yankees, who else? 4 to 3 vs. the Red Sox. The game was very exciting and you could really feel “the greatest rivalry in sports ever”. And so it was no wonder that some of the Sox-fans in our box were kicked out of the stadium by police.

And furthermore, celebrity alarm again: Kevin Bacon and Paul McCartney joined the game as well (we took pictures!!!)
